An Innovative Approach to Reach Homebound Women in Iraq
In a groundbreaking move, we harnessed the popularity of meal delivery services, partnering with "Taza Food Delivery Company" to pioneer a simple awareness program. This initiative involved distributing 300 booklets containing Women's Day greetings and informative messages, specifically targeting this underserved group of women.
Prevention and Response to Child Protection Needs and Concerns and Strengthening Knowledge on Child Protection
In partnership with Mercy Hands and funded by UNICEF we provided a legal assistance and PSS, aiming at preventing and responding to child protection needs and concerns in 3 districts of Baghdad (Abu Ghraib, Latifah and Tarmiyah). Through case management, legal counseling, MHPSS activities and training of MoE, MoI and MoLSA staff, this project will strengthen child protection amongst local communities, local authority personnel and government staff in and out of schools.
Mercy Path is the local partner of Mercy Hands Europe and International Social Service, working together for the purpose of reuniting separated families across borders. We also provide them with legal and psychosocial services.
"Who are They?" is a podcast that tells the life story and achievements of some inspirational Iraqi women. The podcast was produced by 7th Sense for Media and Art Production for Mercy Path for Women's Affairs. The production was executed at 7th Sense' CSB studio in Baghdad.
In 2019, Mercy Path implemented a pilot activity to support women who survived violence. Borrowed from the global anonymous self help groups movement, Mercy Path facilitated the formation of a self help group that consistedw formed a Malathi Anonymous groups in Iraq, which are self-support groups for women survivors of domestic violence. Members and leaders of Malathi are all survivors of domestic violence.
